Lodge Museum of Cast Iron
UX + UI Design
Just like every tissue is a Kleenex, Lodge Cast Iron has become the gold standard for cast iron cookware. The Lodge Museum of Cast Iron was established to immerse visitors in the rich history of cast iron cookware and to highlight its cultural significance over the past 125 years and beyond.
Create Your Own Cookbook
Cookbooks are more than just a collection of ingredients, they’re a cultural tell-all. One singular recipe can come to represent a loved one’s legacy or a family’s tradition. The Create Your Own Cookbook interactive allows guests to start their own traditions with recipes steeped in Southern cuisine.
Curated by both Lodge Cast Iron and the Southern Foodways Alliance the recipes are categorized into four areas: Appalachian, Soul Food, Saltwater South, and Cajun & Creole.
Guests can browse and add favorite recipes to their digital cookbook. After personalizing their cover, guests can email a PDF copy to themselves to continue their Cast Lodge Iron experience at home.
Admins at the Lodge Museum of Cast Iron can edit, add, or remove recipes with an easy-to-use content management system.
Your Cast Iron Story
For many, Lodge Cast Iron cookware has become a family heirloom that is handed down through generations. The Your Cast Iron Story interactive is a chance for the guest to share their favorite memory involving a Lodge product.
As guests answer different prompts, their memory visually comes to life in the form of a scrapbook-style collage.
At the end of the experience, guests can write a message to pair with their collage. Their final product, and past submissions, can be viewed on the nearby wall-mounted screen. Guests can also submit their email to receive a copy of their collage and opt-in for further marketing from Lodge Cast Iron.
